"Second Star to the Right, and Straight on Till Morning"

I have always loved Disney. I grew up watching their movies on VHS, then as I got older I switched to watching their TV shows and their movies on DVDs. The point being, Disney has always been apart of my life. To some people Disney movies may just be seen as stupid animated cartoons, but once you look past the "Disney Filter" you can see their true colors. The true meaning behind Disney movies, and the deeper issues they discuss. It was Peter Pan who first showed me the world of adventures, and through that a love developed, but before I go into details let me introduce myself for those in the audience that don't already know.

My name is Talia Perrea, i'm a second semester Junior at St. Micheal's College in Colchester, Vermont. At school I Study Journalism and Media Arts, and Theatre. These are both two subjects that i'm very passionate about and love to learn more about. Part of my requirements for my major is a study abroad experience, to which I embark on January 7th. I will be spending the better half of the next four months in London, England going to school part time and working at an internship the other half.

This is a big deal for me, seeing as this will be the first time i've left the country, besides the occasional trip to Canada, and more importantly, i'll be doing it on my own. I never thought I would be the type of person to embark on a journey like this by myself. I've spent most of my life clutching onto people and living in their shadows, but instead of being afraid of this opportunity, i'm thankful. This is the chance for me to find my wings, and to learn how to stand on my own two feet. I don't know what will happen in England, I don't even know if i'll like it. I might get over their and decide i'm not a world traveler after all, but the point is I won't know until I try, so i'm going to try.

I can't promise that this blog will be full of wisdom and advice, i'm only 20, i'm still learning a lot of things myself. But if this blog will be anything, it will be honest. This blog will be an honest account of my travels through Europe, even if they aren't all so glorious, and maybe by reading about my experience it will help you decide to take a trip of your own.

With that being said, I hope you join me on this adventure, for i'm sure it's bound to be interesting. Until that time i'll be packing and waiting, for when the 7th comes i'll be putting into practice what Peter Pan taught me when I a little girl, learning how to fly.

Happy Holidays,

-Talia
